No. I've had employers say no to my negotiations, but they didn't rescind the offer. But in this market who knows, I've heard of more people getting offers rescinded in the last year than the previous 15 years of my career.
I have pulled offers for two reasons:
1. Utterly unrealistic ask - had a candidate counter an offer of $100k with $130k because they saw that as the market rate for the role. I met with them, talked through the realities of the offer and what they felt they could offer that would justify a higher salary. They dropped their ask to $125k, but was utterly incapable of using any examples of why THEY should be paid that much (they continued with a bunch of questionable market metrics and “facts”).
2. Fragmented asks - candidate came back three times with new asks. We met the first one (signing bonus), countered on the second one (base salary), but came to an agreement and set the condition it was the final offer. When they came back a third time, we informed them we would need to take a different direction.
Both instances showed significant lack in business acumen - both roles were Manager (5+ years experience) and needed skills that were shown to be lacking in their offer negotiation.
wow, the second instance is crazy. i can't stand it when people need to squeeze every little bit out of a negotiation. it shouldn't always be one-sided and people need to be able to recognize that.
I would suit for pain and suffering you're not going to offer me money to take it back from me like you're holding a bone in front of me what no you got to let your yavi yays and your knees be nice you can't offer me something I get myself excited I think my expenses have increased and I can buy more and I can yeah and then you take it away from me that's horrible because now maybe I'm looking to buy a bigger house or maybe I'm looking to buy a bigger car based on what you told me you were going to give me that was going to be one going and then you snatch it away from me. I'm going to sue you. If you told me my emotions pain and suffering and I'm going to see you because you're not holding up your agree with you made a verbal group are you going to pay me more than your day so therefore I'm going to sue you and you going to pay me plus pain and suffering and interests and whatever else I can get
Nope, never heard of this. It used to scare me but I don’t think it’s ever happened to my knowledge / in my friends circle

I have seen it more than a few times with candidates. Especially when they requested WFH despite the posting clearly saying in-office was required. Always get a chuckle out of that one. We just make an offer to the next candidate and move on.
I'm sorry I'm speaking into a recorded device so I did not say let your knees be nice that is retarded I said let your yays be yeast and let your knees be be nose that's what I said from the scripture from the Bible okay I don't want you to come off as some weird woman I'm not I'm going to stop using these things and just type it in and that's it because it's saying stuff I'm not saying God bless everybody bye
