Has anyone ever tried working for a start-up? How did it go, because I am not sure it is worth it.

How is pre-sales culture/comp/career growth at Google within GCP? is having a solid pre-sales track record at another large tech company (non-FAANG) plus good performance on the interviews enough to break in? Or does one need to have prior solid experience with GCP too?

Currently a paralegal at a small start up financial services company been there for just a little over a year. I wear “multiple hats” but more recently I’ve done a lot of PM work and some BA work. I have 3yrs of experience with the same firm and am currently working as a sales analyst for the institutional sales team in NA. I have experience with traditional long only solutions, real estate (primarily value add funds), and a sector specific hedge fund. Any and all feedback is welcome!

Just curious to how my firms (wealth management/bank/trust) comp compares with others out there. I received a promotion earlier this year from an Investment Advisor, AVP to Senior Investment Advisor, VP and moved from $110K to $140K ($130 salary + $10K discretionary bonus) all in. By meeting expectations in 2 pay cycles, the base bumps up to $175K + bonus. Grown in this role over about 10 years with the same firm, MBA + CFA; top 10 city and living comfortably as dual income household.
