For buy side analysts, are there logical career moves one can make after having a couple of years of working experience?

Hi all. I am licensed in life, accident and health and am looking for new opportunities. I’ve been working in employee benefits in a small brokerage firm on a book of business of over 400 clients, I’m the only account manager. We’ve had 100% employer retention since I’ve been here. I am a high performer, but not sure I’m valued much at all . I want to reach the top and become partner in my career ; this is why I went to work for a small firm. My boss favors others when I do the most work!!

Can we be done with all the marriage/men vs women/sex topics and do something to help each other professionally? If any PPMDs are on, give us young-uns some advice on how to climb the ladder perhaps? Are you willing to mentor anyone?

What is the hierarchy of roles in Deloitte Canada? I can assume its Analyst>consultant>senior consultant. Where does manager and senior manager fits in?

Need some advice, I’m an experienced audit staff looking to transition to FDD or Valuation after busy season. Would you take a VP role at 4 months pregnant? I’m in house at Manager level and been offered VP at a large agency. Nice raise and obviously title will open doors. But I’m scared about going back to agency life and it’s hours and workload with a new baby. Can’t decide whether to take the jump now so it benefits me in long run or take the route which will likely be easier on me as a new mom and potentially risk slowing down career. Really torn.

I’m approaching YE compensation discussions and was curious to see what folks/the industry are paying for institutional middle-market sales/distribution/business-development roles. I have 3yrs of experience with the same firm and am currently working as a sales analyst for the institutional sales team in NA. I have experience with traditional long only solutions, real estate (primarily value add funds), and a sector specific hedge fund. Any and all feedback is welcome!

I do institutional sales for an asset manager. Am graduating in the fall with an MBA from a top 40 school. Would like a designation but dont want to do the CFA.  Between the CAIA and CMT: which one is more applicable to asset management, and better status/recognition? appreciate any insight

Does the CAIA hold much value if already doing the CFA?
