It was a bit of a tough decision, but I turned down a job offer even though it came with a substantial pay increase. The thing is, after digging into the company culture and values, I realized they didn't quite align with mine. I believe in a workplace where collaboration and personal growth are prioritized, and it seemed like their focus was more on the bottom line. So, I decided to stick with my current role.
That is a good reason not to go in my opinion! Thanks for sharing your experience
Yeah. Taking on the job would have required my partner and I to move cities and it's just not something that we were ready to do. It would've been really nice for me but she would've had to uproot her whole career and figure it out in a city where she knew no one. I chose our future together over the money and I don't regret it at all.
Moving to a different city is a big jump and makes sense why that would be a factor.
I've turned down 3 in-office and hybrid tools to maintain my current remote role. Flexibility is king in my circumstance, even if I'm leaving money on the table.
Going in-office would be really tough after being remote.
