Has anyone got any gigs on Working Not Working?

Keep getting feedback that I don’t come off as excited for the role. Not sure how to fix this as I prepare a lot of these interviews and truly am interested in them... any advice?

How normal is it to be pulled off a trial team because you tell your boss you are moving after trial? I have a trial coming up first week of Oct. This case has been my baby, and I’m going to try it with my boss. I tell my boss up front that, for family reasons, I’ve gotten a new job and will be moving to another city two weeks after trial will likely end. He then gives my trial witnesses to another attorney, but is still going to make me do grunt work. Is he unreasonable or am I?

Working at a company and they can’t seem to hold on to their female, black and people of color employees. I blinked and 3 of the people who were in my onboarding class were either fired or they left. For context I’ve been in company less than a year and there are people who have been in the company 25yrs. I’m thinking of cutting loose before it gets to my turn.

I have more than 12 years of tax attorney experience at biglaw and big4. Are there any big4 positions that pay more than 200k? National Tax? Anything else?

For those managers and senior managers who are directly working with new staff and interns - how are you maintaining the quality? I am at a breaking point now as I have no seniors on 3 of my clients. How am I supposed to concentrate on complex allocations if I have to do all the updates on basic M-1s. All the experienced S2 and S3s I trained got pulled into other engagements as acting managers. I’ve been running into weird happenings at my new firm learn of everything “I misunderstood” about my package. I don’t actually qualify for quarterly bonuses at a pro-rated billing rate; no 401ks till year 2; and the biggest—we don’t qualify for a raise unless we are here during the entire fiscal year. We have a 2100 billable req which I’m barely hitting. We also get paid below 6 figures. I learned that the new associates came is at least $10k over us. I graduated 2020–but 1st firm job. Advice?
