They have to essentially make up brand guidelines as they go? Pick fonts, colors, icons, etc?
Quite a bit longer than with an established look.
Would allot 2 weeks of work, personally.
Great question: we don’t have a tremendous recurring *need* for design or brand guidelines, but a common question we seem to get from designers is whether we have guidelines which is fair. So the assignment wouldn’t be to establish that per se, just design the deck. We DO have a clear look (colors, fonts, spacing conventions, etc) on our site.
We’ve really struggled to find a designer and appreciate your input (don’t want to jerk a designer around or set unreasonable expectations).
Yeah, I assumed it wouldn’t include formal guidelines. But they will still have to take the time to figure that out, get it approved, etc. Probably doubles the time of what would normally be fairly straightforward when guidelines exist.
Recently did this- PPT sales deck, roughly 15-18 slides
$1,500 which would include up to 18 pages and that would include 1 round of revisions, $75 for additional pages, and $150/ hr for any additional rounds of revisions.
Knew this would be recurring work otherwise may have gone higher. They went over revision rounds and slide amount by a bunch. Also turned into a brand guideline and other templates.
Should note they didn’t have a current brand guideline
