Okay to renege on a lateral offer that I already accepted (prior to Covid-19 outbreak)? Anxiety is high moving in a time like this and now would rather stay put.

Yes, and it's not uncommon in non-COVID times too.

Yes!

Why did you want to change firms?

I think that’s right but I do believe that there are real cultural differences between firms — in biglaw and small law — that matter a lot in good times and even more in bad times. If OP is in a firm with a s**t culture a move may not change the vaunted “balance” but nonetheless might massively improve quality of life.

Of course.

Any tips on how to improve lining thickness? My RE had me on Estrace for a week before starting Prometrium (vaginally) a few days ago, but my lining is only a little above 5mm. Looks likely that this FET cycle is going to get canceled (was potentially going to be this weekend) since the lining doesn’t seem to be thick enough. This will be the 3rd transfer cycle that’s getting canceled, it just really sucks...what’s worse is I didn’t see my doctor today, just the sono tech, (cont’d)

I never felt the need to until I realized how much being bipolar can affect my ability to work.

Absolutely. Businesses can be ethical by treating people the way they’d want to be treated. 3 ways Airbnb can do this: Aggressively fight fraudulent listers, let Airbnb members control their data (allow data requests/permissioning/deletion from any state or country), and oh - make it easy for people to get their money back if their travel was affected by covid-19. How not to be ethical: marketing ethics vs living them.

Can you name a firm (preferably NY office) that lets its associates work from a different country with no issues? The mid-size firm I’m currently at has been very flexible during covid but I’m looking to change firm (biglaw). Since my family is abroad I find it extremely valuable to be able to do this (I did this even before covid for a couple of weeks, twice a year). I’ve heard firms like Latham and Paul Weiss don’t allow it for tax reasons.
