I started medication about a year ago and it did have a lot of overall benefits. However it did take me a while and is still an ongoing situation with making sure the medication works for me and it needs a lot of tweaking. Everyone has such different experiences with it. I would say it is absolutely worth looking into and deciding if it is a good choice for you.
Thank you! I think I will try it out, couldn't hurt much more than I'm hurting now lol
Yes, Wellbutrin worked absolute wonders on my motivation, energy levels, and even helped me lose some weight. It's like a miracle antidepressant if it works for you because it doesn't work through serotonin but dopamine so the side effects are better in my opinion. It is quite a bit of a stimulant, so it did make me jittery at first but I loved how productive I was on it (I eventually stopped taking because I got pregnant and didn't want to be on it while I was).
I’m on lexapro and I find it helpful for every single area of my life. I started experiencing depression after having my first child and medication helped immensely.
Two warnings.. first it can take months and months to figure out the right meds and dosage. Second, you’ll get your most bang for your buck if you also try therapy.
I’d trust your doctor! You should go for it! Like I said, I found it very helpful.
A lot of people are unnecessarily medicating in audit and FDD. I think there is a ton of adderall and stuff like that and it definitely supercharges their stamina, energy/focus levels, and ultimately performance. I refuse to do this and am old school by working out and eating healthy, but there’s no doubt these people have an advantage over me, and that’s perfectly fine.
Tbh I think some symptoms of depression come from what you eat. Prior to having my first child I would struggle with bouts of depression. However after I had my child and changed the way I ate and worked out more I have not dealt with depression in over 2 years. That and I also found out I had a gluten allergy. So yeah definitely changing your environment and how you eat may reduce symptoms.
I am on Lexapro due to general anxiety disorder and I had a very tough year of 2022 and 2023 (that’s also when I started my CPA journey and big4 job). I was told I had ADHD, severe depression, etc. but after trying several medications and treatment it was nothing but an underlying anxiety. I tried several other antidepressants including Aderall, Wellbutrin, and few other instant antidepressant. Lexapro improved my life both in and outside of work drastically. First few months to an extended 6-8 months are always the difficult part. Once you get used to of it, it will improve your overall life.
Prozac for anxiety. Worked wonders
Prozac is too extreme. I find it is the last step once none of the less severe alternatives works out. I heard there is no coming back or extremely difficult to withdraw once you get used to of Prozac
