Alot of us. So you went from some other area and decided to become an adminstrator. Ballsy. I always feel like, even though I am one, Im currently not using it but, wonder, do administrators with out the knowledge of what ( including rns, lpns, nps, cnas, and qmas, )besides being told from the DON, or corporate who are hours or states away, as the highest level in the building, how do you know what to look for and what you could be missing? We had an administrator that really liked this nurse who was diverting pills out the ass. She would work a 12 hour shift, and she would give this prn exactly at 6,12, and 6. Really? They were counting at six both times. Hows that possible? Then she got the administrator to believe that pushing more pain meds than the order allows mKes the doctor happy. Well. The nurse got fired and the administrator was sitting there with a dumb look on her face. At the very least, a cna to lnow whT to look for to help prevent problems down the road. Just my opinion. Gotta get my pizza out of the oven.

Additional Posts in Healthcare Administrators/Healthcare Leadership

I’m located in WA and have been working as a certified medical assistant and front office specialist for the same organization and have 10-11 years experience. I graduated with my BS in Healthcare Management last September and I’m currently fast tracking my MBA in Healthcare Management. I have been applying for leadership roles over the last year and haven’t made any headway. I’m looking for some advice on actually moving into a role utilizing my degree.I currently make $25.80, with a raise soon

Any advice on how to pick the best company for me when offered a position from more than 1 company? I've been interviewing extensively with 4 companies, and I believe 2 are getting ready to send offers. If I receive more than 1 offer - how do I choose? I compared benefits, pros/cons, compared them on Glassdoor, questioned them about growth opportunities, asked about their culture.....anything I am missing? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I’m a scheduler in a major hospital, see my position in other departments being advertised as remote available. How can I successfully negotiate WFH? I’d like to cut down on my 44-mile one way commute.

Background: I’ve been in my position for 1 yr. I have 20 yrs military experience, bachelors in Business. I took an entry level $15/hour job to get my foot in the door. I’m actively looking for a promotion. But 44 miles plus gas & business casual clothing on $15/hour is killing me.

Working in a large health system as a quality professional WFH. I rarely see anyone else on my team, and when I do present findings I see no changes happening. Maybe they’re happening and I just don’t have a role in that oversight but the motivation to keep going is whittling down to nothing. I’ve been in healthcare for years but graduated with a masters in last two years and was hoping for something different. I have been applying to so many jobs and not many calls back. Any advice ?

How do I keep my team engaged when I am also struggling to stay motivated?

Our department has had a lot of turnover within the last few months, all of which were from different reasons (school, family issues, opportunities close to home, etc.). It has been a challenge to divide the workload, while still trying to remain flexible and provide a work-life balance.

However, I’m starting to feel stressed and disengaged. Any suggestions to make it through the changes?

I am so frustrated …

I have an MHA and 4 years of management experience. I’m currently a manager, but seeking a director level position. Any advice for trying to temper my expectations? I feel like all director level positions have 5 years in the posting, but a lot of my peers with the same experience are already in director level positions. Are they just lucky? Am I jumping the gun? Do I just need to stick it out?
