I’ve been working fully remote for the last 8 years. Every position I’ve taken has been an increase. Honestly, not working in an office is a huge cost savings. Considering, I have literally gotten back two hours of my life everyday by not commuting, and it allowed me to buy a house in, what was, a new and cheaper neighborhood, that has offset any salary compromise I had made.
What company do you work for May I ask? Is it in new York ?
I am fully remote as a coordinator for credentialing and medical staff office. I took the position during the middle of the pandemic and we were remote for Covid. They decided to do hybrid so if you want to go into the office you can. At least for my current role.
Hi I work fully remote for a newer company. I found my position by filtering my search on indeed to remote positions only. Luckily I didn’t have to sacrifice or compromise on anything. The position was a new position for the company so luckily I was able to really develop the position to my liking and the position is more suited for someone at home rather than in the office (sitting in a cubicle). So it’s working out well.
Personal opinion, if you lead/support people who have no choice but to work in person (aka hospitals and other direct patient care settings) then you should be working in person also.
I work remote. Initially, I was working in the office, but we went remote due to the pandemic. It worked out well, so they let us stay remote or we had the option to come in whenever. They then started talking about hybrid and once a month in person meetings. I was already underpaid and I’ve come to realize remote work is for me. I started looking for other remote roles and thankfully found one. My salary almost doubled. I haven’t had to make any compromises at all and don’t feel like I’m getting paid less for working remote.
What is your title (and company) if you don’t mind sharing?
If you find any leads please share😂 I’m at a Director level now in operations management and finding it so incredibly hard to find a remote (or even hybrid) role that aligns with my background and is not a demotion. I’ve been searching for about 8 months. I’m fine with a title demotion at this point but a salary decrease will be really tough for me and my family.
All the directors in my department have the option to work remote and most do. Do you have enough influence as a director to move your team to a remote or hybrid model?
I’m an operations manager for a healthcare consulting vendor. I’m in the medical coding division and I work fully remote as does my Director and all the C suite folks are remote as well. I’d recommend looking at healthcare vendors.
Is your company hiring? Would you mind sharing who you work for?
I work for R1 and I am completely remote I do not feel that I have sacrificed anything being remote I keep in contact with all of my employees and work hard at getting and keeping a good working relationship
I work for R1 as well, am fully remote, and have several opportunities to continue career growth.
I work fully remote after working as a government employee for ~3 years. Salary nearly doubled. Nothing sacrificed or compromised other than government pension which will be more than offset by salary alone.
My DMs are open! :)
Can’t help but feel that all the remote positions listed currently are at risk of being “more disposable” than specific location based roles. Or at least that’s one thing that gives me anxiety about them among other things
Fully remote. Pay increased by about 10k when I went remote and it was practically a lateral move.
