Interviewing for new jobs when my current boss is a reference, bad idea or not?

Does anyone know how to go about providing a writing sample to a potential new employer while going through the application process, without letting on to my current team that I am applying for a new job? I understand I would need permission to use a redacted memorandum or document I’ve written during my time a PwC, but to ask for permission to use one of my writings as a sample would basically admit that I’m applying to another job. What is the appropriate thing to do in this situation ?

Happy Wednesday everyone. I'm so excited, I have a recruiter call scheduled with @Meta for Administrative Partner position. I've been in my current employer role for 19 years and I'm nervous as heck. Sharing my experience with Deloitte USI interview and offer negotiation. I gave Deloitte interview 2 months ago. After managerial round I did multiple follow ups and Deloitte didn’t bother to reply. I moved on and got another offer. After 1 month Deloitte came back and asked for documents and didn’t show up for another 1 month. Today HR called and asked my expectations. I have 23.5 in hand so I asked for 26 which she said out of budget. Then I asked 23.5 fixed atleast. Contd… in comments
