Has anyone registered DBAs for a client in all 50 states, or many states? It seems not worth it, given time and cost and the fact that some (most?) states don’t even have a centralized database and most contracts will have your full legal name on them anyway. For example, NY costs over $2,000 to register in all counties, Mass doesn’t have a centralized registry, so I’ve filed in Boston, just so clients can point to something. Am I crazy? Is this not a ridiculous endeavor?

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

I'm in a litigation, about 9 months in.
