Has anyone successfully put themselves forward for a promotion that skips a grade? We were recently issued a refreshed framework, and I can evidence meeting all but one of the criteria for two grades above mine consistently over the last 6-12 months. It seems like a reasonable goal, but I don't know how rigid the business will be :/

I would like to know what options should be available or present in organizations for employees with medical problems like diabetes, heart disease etc.

Does anyone know how litigation finance works on the plaintiff side? If someone wanted to bring a lawsuit against their former employer would a general contingency arrangement with a plaintiff’s firm make sense? Or would one need to find funding and then contact a plaintiff’s firm to actually handle the case? I’m a transactional lawyer, so this is out of my wheelhouse.

I have completed 8 months in the current org and my Notice Period is 90 Days.
If I resign and serve notice , my tenure at current workplace will be 11 months.
Should I work for one more month and resign ?
Or should I resign right away and serve 2 months notice period and buy out one months notice ?

Looking for advice for investing in these two options. Say I have $100k by October saved up
1) Put 10k into iBonds and $90k as downpyament and closing costs for a property (I’ll need to put in 20%, already talked to several mortgage agents)
2) Put $0 in ibonds and put all the $100k in the home investing (given it’s a little more of an expensive property, given some other factors - location, size, etc)

What are some concrete reasons why someone in consulting would be fired, other than the obvious stupid things?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

For implementation of a project , Is delivery important or leadership ? If only one had to be chosen rather which will you give more weightage

Is there any advice for networking into projects when you don’t know many people at the firm yet? I always to help on BD work when I’m on the bench, but it never turns into any billable work.
