No, but I'm a vegan.
A CrossFit enthusiast is like a tobacco enthusiast. Lots of parallels. Neither are good for your body, but you do it to look cool
Does OTF count as crossfit? If so yes, NYC / 6 months
I can't believe crossfit is still around... How many torn up knees shoulders and backs is it going to take for people to stop. Terrible mechanics
Last 10 years or so. Find them on the road and have a nice rack and oly weights in my garage so it is easy and cheap to do on the weekends when I am home.
My neighbor comes out on the weekends to toss weights around with me during the summer months and like those above said, if you are honest with yourself, warm up appropriately and choose weights that you can actually safely finish the workouts, than you can greatly minimize all of those injuries folks run into with Crossfit. I can’t tell you how many people who have no idea what they are doing, try to lie and convince the coaches they don’t need the fundamentals classes, only to get into normal classes and then refuse to scale the weights because they are “good” and don’t want or need to do something less, and then race against and get upset about not finishing at the same time as the one or two folks in the gym who have been doing it forever and are also significant stronger, smarter etc about it all. It is very difficult for a coach to work with these folks sans just telling them they cannot work out at that gym or they “must” scale, slow down etc.. which we all know is near impossible. So as much as folks want to blame the crosffit methodology... I’d say a fair share of the blame lays in basic human nature as well. Be honest with yourself folks, quit looking around and caring what folks think if you are only moving the bar, focus on having fun and getting fit and trying to just finish and let the rest come over time. Coaches... yes plenty of shit ones too... but go take a 60
Minute personal training sessions at any other standard gym... I promise you there are a ton of shitty trainers moonlighting all over the world too so this problem is not unique to CF

I like the idea of CrossFit but agree with others - poor mechanics * racing against the clock / others = injury . I’d love to see more proper progression and getting rid of the competitive aspect of it. There are plenty of other sports to compete at.
If you get injured doing crossfit it’s generally a shit coach, not a shit concept. I’ve done crossfit and a bunch of other sports and solos and like all things, you get out what you put in and if you try and go for heavy weights without technique you’ll get injured. Please avoid the lazy “crossfit gets you injured” stuff.

Dallas / One month .. going strong 😊
Which one do you go to OP? 214?
I’ve been going to Orange Theory and love it but haven’t seen a lot of change in my body (athletic to begin with). Thinking about switching to CrossFit to gain some muscle.
@op where in Dallas I travel there

@M1 Injuries can happen during any workout, its all about learning the technique first.
