Considering applying for a role at Dentsu / Isobar in Toronto. Does anyone have any insight into the culture, if it’s overall a decent place to work? Or if there are any red flags to watch out for?
What’s Isobar Canada like these days?
Anyone know of any part time work from home opportunities? I have experience in the past as an SDR for an insurance firm.
Layoffs at Warner and HBO today 😢😢😢
How long is too long for an employment gap? What would you ask for from a candidate who had been unemployed for 2 years, to prove that they could actually handle the job?
Can anyone explain that thing where someone does a call with their phone on speaker, but it’s just them on the call? Just them shouting at their phone that’s 2 feet away? In an open floor plan office?
Any strategies or resources you could recommend for getting rid of the dreaded annual performance review (or at least lessening the dread) and creating a more effective year round performance feedback system? Our review is currently tied to our end of year bonuses and merit increases, so not sure I could get rid of it entirely. This would be for hourly and management employees, all working on-site.
Don’t you just love it when former co-workers / bosses who were doing everything they could to screw you over, are now sending you LinkedIn requests. Why do some people have no self-respect?
Do any managers do more than just manage and lead the team?
Currently I manage the team, manage accounting, handle HR, handle marketing such as documents and emails, provide all of the technical support, and sell.
My boss still works from home and only looks at the phone report to check the productivity. They refuse to look at my reports or complete activity logs. Because I have 4 hours of no phone activity daily, my boss believes I am not working hard enough.
I think when everyone go back to the office I will have to take my tushy bidet to the agency.
I am looking to purchase gifts for my sales reps, what would you recommend that is professional & practical?
Any advice on how to succeed in my new job?
Background: I'll start at a bigger agency (100+ people) next week. I came from a really small agency so there's going to be some drastic differences. I was wondering what are some things I can do to set myself up to succeed? Request for 1:1 straight away with my boss to set goals? Do I try to meet everyone as soon as I can?
Any advice would be appreciated!
Looking for opinions on this process.
Health tech company with a semi-luxury D2C service, $1k - $3k price point. Semi Brand Recognition with FB + IG marketing to generate leads in the Bay Area.
Leads are redirected to our website, which is optimized for self-service and conversion.
After a day, unconverted leads are assigned to outbound SDR team. They’ll get around 750 leads per month, converting at a 5% conversion rate.
Is this viable? Thanks for your input! 🙏
How would I go about getting an idea to a company I have no connection to (never worked with them and my current agency doesn’t work with them)? It’s a commercial script I’ve had for a long time and I think it’s good and very specific to this brand. Is that even a possibility? Is there a way to have ownership of the idea?
The Many has had two huge rounds of layoffs in like 2 months. How will they get anybody to come work with them moving forward? Will they have to change their name or something? Who wants to work somewhere where there is something around every corner.

Hi! Does your agency have rules about Slack or how to interact with folks on Slack? Asking because of this piece about how Slack was/is used at Away: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2019/12/5/20995453/away-luggage-ceo-steph-korey-toxic-work-environment-travel-inclusion
In my early 40s. Never had a chance to practice FIRE because of many family responsibilities (parents, siblings, etc). Never a big spender though but saving only about $1000 a month despite $200k+ pay.
Houses - close to paid off
401k - $200k
Investment - $50k
No other debt left
Going to have about $100k extra post tax income. What are the best way to start FIRE assuming I won’t increase my spending? And what’s a realistic target to retire at this point?
Is it too difficult to get an opportunity in the industry if you are at Assoc. Principal or Principal level in Consulting (with 10+ years experience exclusively in the Consulting only)?

I resigned Today from my current employer for a different offer.
I discussed with my lead , he said if you really want to leave then prepare a good reason and leave on good terms, management will try to give lucrative offers so that you stay.
What are some safe resignation reasons to give so that
they cannot counter it and it looks genuine and safe as well.
I do not want to say that I am leaving because I am getting another offer.
Kindly guide 🙏

Everybody makes code names in the group chat with the home team right? What’s the funniest name you or your friends ever given someone in the group chat after a date or dealing with someone? Some of mine: Alley Cat, Mr. Me Too, The Grift that keeps on Grifting, Dine & Dash
What are my chances if I did subpar in the final interview with an executive, but I did well during the initial screening, technical, and behavioral interviews? The people I’d be working with seemed to really like me, and so did the team lead. The interviews with them went over the allotted time and felt more like casual conversations. However, the executive director seemed uninterested during the final interview. He also didn’t like how I didn’t keep up with the latest tech news.
How do you all feel about the ARK ETFs? I feel pretty passionately that Cathie wood knows what’s she’s doing and that the next decade will yield some crazy disruption.

Any suggestions on handling objections from hiring managers around candidates not answering questions how they would have wanted vs the content of the answer?
To me it feels like the HM is expecting a Candidate to answer a question that wasn't even asked but rather implied or "expected"...for example a Product Manager SHOULD be able to articulate a products value vs "I asked Candidate to talk about his products value and he didn't give a good answer"
Anyone hear about PA’s hospital shutdown bc of the private company that promised to “expand its services” but ran it into the ground? It’s an hr away from me and has sorely impacted the community. There’s a special place in hell for people who profit off of Americans’ loss of healthcare. This is why healthcare shouldn’t be private to begin with.
