Seems like mba is must?

Went to strategy and transactions from risk but was a grind. Def possible just have to really network a lot and show you have the basic skills you need

like

Did you go in at an entry level?

I'm not sure why you would do this

lol I guess that's one way to think about - the jump can actually be made but it takes a lot of networking before it happens

I think I will stay with risk. There is no reason for me to switch over to strategy. Well, for now.

I actually came the other way around. It was not that difficult. So I think the switch that you are planning is doable.

Do you like it better?

Yes. It was just a year ago. Why do you ask, OP?

Kinda tired of risk now

I'm an introverted person, like to keep to myself, focus on work, spend the rest of my time on family, gym etc. I've been told that I need to work on my communication and client relationship building skills. any books I can read? I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed? Personally I am happy and love the work but fear for my career progression.

Hi fishies! Considering an internal big 4 move from Western Europe to Dubai. Not sure about WLB and whether there’ll be enough growth and learning opportunities after reading some of the threads here. Anyone up for sharing their experience? Especially concerned about sexism / racism as a WOC…and whether moving back to Europe in a few years will be difficult because the ME experience won’t be considered valuable.

I work at a small, 3 lawyer firm. One of the lawyers is not barred in the state we practice. Because of this, the managing attorney has been having him draft motions and other legal documents and use my name and bar number and having me file them because I will have to appear in court for the matter. Is this normal? I am not provided time to review the materials before I file them so I end up working longer days because I am nervous to file something using my name and bar number.
