My home office is Gilbert but I am currently in the Midwest. Start date is September 7th. When should I start planning my move? HR really doesn’t know the game plan yet. I am thinking I should keep planning to move out there but everything seems to be up in the air at the moment. Also, anyone renting in the area?

Just landed a full time gig, looking to get some furniture so I’m not working on my parents’ kitchen table during this remote period. Any recommendations for desks and chairs? I’m hoping to find something that’s easy to assemble and break down for when I need to move, and something that won’t cost an arm and a leg.

I know everyone has a different kind of setup that works for them. I currently have a laptop, drawing pad, second monitor, and a desk riser.

Does anyone have a good home office chair recommendation? Looking for something ergonomic preferably under $250.

Looking for ways to streamline Daily staffing/coverage Communication across multiple offices. I prefer to standardize something through Microsoft Teams since we already use that platform, but open to other free applications/tools.
The biggest struggle is each office being able to see “the bigger picture.” My staff (RNs and MAs) complains they are always covering for their home office and other offices and no one covers for them, but that’s not the case. Want them to see how other offices cover.

Any United health group remote employees here? I recently accepted an accounting job and some of the onboard makes it seem like I’m only allowed to work from my home office. I usually spend a few weeks a year out of town visiting family and work during this time so I don’t have to use PTO but I’m nervous I won’t be allowed to do that anymore

When I was hired, I don't recall being informed about my salary being tied to my location. My employment contract also only makes one mention of location, and says "home office" and my state. I was recently told by HR though that if I move, my comp. will be lower. Is this legal? Should I consult a labor lawyer?

In my mind, I don't recall being told this and it's not clear from my employment contract, so I feel like they're breaking our agreement, and it feels unfair.

Thoughts on what to do?

Family law associate. I run a docket of about 40-50 cases and work about 50 hours a week. I currently make about 125K (self-employed, no benefits). Between jury trials for CPS termination cases and the highly adversarial nature of family law, I find this job to be incredibly draining, as I have horrid work/life balance and struggle with constant anxiety.

I recently got an offer with a personal injury firm. 110K, full benefits, for a non-litigation/docket manager role. Thoughts?

I got my first offer for a boutique firm that aligns perfectly with what I want. Only thing is, this it’s as an “independent contractor”. What are some things to watch out here for? I know health insurance is huge but I have that taken care of already.

I don’t want to give away any specifics regarding the firm, but it’s a 50% increase in total comp, with the potential to be 70% increase based on performance and firm performance.

Any tips or tricks to navigate an independent contractor offer?
