Hi fishes! My spouse is planning to go to India but we would need to get her visa stamped before coming back. I see that getting appointment is such a huge problem right now. Can we get her visa stamped from a different country? In this case, we were considering Qatar, she grew up there and has her brother there. For what it’s worth she qualifies for Dropbox in India. How do I find out if Qatar works in our case?Deloitte

Going to be extremely difficult for you to get into the USA. Being ‘welcomed,’ is the least of your problems.
OP: I’m a wee bit surprised at this post. Every administration was in favor of immigration, but each had their own agenda associated with it. Both agree that it fuels new blood to invigorate the nation. Immigration should and ought to be tied to the ability of the individual to integrate quickly within the given community, to avoid being a burden.
This is why legal immigration means (GC lottery, various visa categories, and etc.) exist. However, certain individuals are confusing legal immigration for open borders. That is wrong. On top of that, democrats at some point realized that illegal immigrants (i.e. ones that are crossing the border with cartels help), are working in their favor:
(1) settle in blue states, causing a massive shift in demographics for local population, forcing local states to turn a blind eye as far as criteria for election of local officials and budget distribution - we’re getting to a point where there were actual examples of folks with questionable legal status, who were allowed to put their name on ballot, were elected, and served local authorities, promoting even crazier policies. Bat-crazy stuff.
(2) confuses the masses, since for those coming from abroad the word “democracy” “democrat”, is the closest equivalent to “fair”, which is why most favor voting for democrats, in addition to the massive federal handouts extended via WIC, section8, Medicaid, and etc. All that funding is not coming from thin air, but comes from our taxes;
(3) creates an unfair disadvantage for folks who chose to take the legal route, but are not getting the same benefits as those who came illegally.
In essence, through various legislations (historically pushed by democrats), our taxes are in effect subsidizing illegal immigration and their stay here, which in turn turns into massive growth of ghettos in blue states, while their kids (who are born here) are straddling entire families due to birthright citizenship. The current system is not sustainable, as we can’t and shouldn’t encourage illegal immigration, no matter how sad someone’s sob story is. Yes, there are exceptions, and there are legal means to address them. But at this point we are talking about millions (yes, it’s in the millions at this point) of folks who crossing the border and live in US without a legal status, who are often often driven to abusing existing lax laws to use the system to their advantage. And that no doubt impacts everyone’s way of life, as someone has to pay in the end.
I have always nursed the dream of working in the U.S. as a Canadian. Now, it’s more confusing than ever. I am still hopeful that very soon the coast will be clear. I am open to all the options right now.
Legal immigration has always been confusing and difficult to navigate under any administration. The bigger question is what have you done so far towards your goal besides following news. The news media doesn’t focus and it is too hard to present to the general public the intricacies of legal immigration. No media or news outlet can explain you. I would highly recommend reading all the relevant articles (based on your country of birth, visa options, job/industry) you could find in the USCIS website.
From personal experience during Trump 1.0 all my visa processes/paperwork were handled professionally and in time. Both during Obama and Biden Administration there were often long wait times/stuck outside the country/almost lost employment. Again not saying one is better than the other just my experience.
