Yes it’s worth it. You should move.
It’s easier to start over early on. And it is totally worth it. As someone who moved from the strategy arm at a B4 to BCG, the opportunities and experiences that BCG offers are so much better - the variety of projects, the smart and humble colleagues, the rotation/ambassadors programs, and comps&benefits too!
They’ll assign you projects if you want to go that way. Highly recommend finding some managers you vibe with and understand, to get better learning experiences and predictability on what the cases will be like
I had issues with people being smart (or worse, not smart) but not humble at B4…less of an issue at MBB per my experience
I think there is a bit of mutual respect and understanding that people are smart in their own ways
I think about the same or slightly higher with higher intensity/expectations…what you would consider a good job is probably table stakes
Those are things to consider before going through application and interview process..
How’s the pay difference, opportunities, client work with goals alignment? < that’s what you should be evaluating post offer.
It’s worth it IMO and yes you will work more hours. Higher expectations @bcg and you’ll work with some really brilliant people. Good culture bc the offices are smaller than big 4.
