Yes I found a few in less than a month
I'm gonna to tell you something. I can guarantee you know more than big 4 people. No offense to them but most companies dont need GAAP. They need solid advice on business and taxes. I have 30 plus years in PA and zero Big 4 experience and its never hurt me. Ya if you want to be a public company CFO then Big 4 helps but way more opportunities outside of public companies.
They also prefer industry experience or operational knowledge
Took me 2 months with a company I was previously presented with an offer for. Very slow market. Still hiring, but at a snail’s pace. One company took two months alone to respond to my resume and schedule an interview.
I just made a jump in June but it was a long process negotiating. They actually hired someone else for the role and then months later I saw they were looking again and reached out. It ended up working out. The entire process between when I started speaking with them to when I got hired was about 9 months (most of which was a lag between when they hired the guy before me after I had gone on a ton of interviews with them and when I reached out) Spent about a month negotiating terms. Overall though I count myself extremely fortunate to have landed this new job in the current economy. Stay persistent. It really does pay off.
Yes I did
No, 10+ rejections in 2025 so far and counting. I am considering transitioning to the professor track because there is no opportunity - I am in a terminal role.
When I considered this, all the postings I found required a PhD

I had multiple offers in a month, it’s either where you’re looking or what you’re looking for
In December was when I started this job. Haven't heard great things about the market since then though
