Not on chat threads, but when I was at Zimmerman an HR employee sent out the salary info for the agency’s president (he was making a few mil in salary) while telling everyone he was not taking a salary bc of the economic downturn. Needless to say she was out of a job a few hours later.

Thats amazing! And reminds me the time maybe 2018/2019ish a pdf of eveyone’s salaries was sent in an all staff from HR. I’ll never forget how the whole office just fell silent all at once!

In 2020 before I was used to Slack I messaged my whole department instead of just my coworker bffl and said “I’m not turning my camera on bc I’m just wearing a sports bra.” Why did I need to share that in any capacity? I will never know.

My first agency, I’m a junior copywriter. We had so much print production work that we had a full-time editor/proofreader. As the print stuff dried up, we tried to find new stuff for her to do, like sitting in brainstorms to take notes. My CD emailed asking for feedback. I accidentally replied all saying I thought she pretended to not know how to do stuff so she didn’t have to do it. Editor was on the email. Feeeback was supposed to be about the process, not her specifically.

My desk phone (again, this wasn’t recent) lit up with like 4 calls. The Editor never spoke to me again, and she ended up taking early retirement a few months later (unrelated…I think).
