Headed back into freelance and made a Slack account so I could work on a job’s project. But we got extended and Slack is pushing for a “Pro” account. Is that something I need as a freelancer!? My experience has been that I am just added to each agencies account for the time I’m freelancing.

Is it true that front end developers get paid less than backend/full stack developers?

I’m a full stack developer who enjoys front end work, but I’m not sure if I should be looking/applying to front end specific positions.

When they lay people off, they often keep things quiet because it will "effect morale". But the firing itself is what effects morale. Being secretive about it undermines respect and harms morale more.

I’ve been a freelance print production designer for many years, and usually on-site in the before times. Now I work remote, and am finding it uneasy dealing with billing. Before I always billed hourly, which made sense, but it’s becoming an issue now. Some companies don’t have a full days’ work, so it seems wrong to bill full days, and it allows me to juggle projects for different companies, but my billable hours are down. I know I should bill a daily rate, but not sure that will fly. Thoughts?
