Hello everyone, I’m Preeti (Pree-thee), and I’m new here. I’m looking for guidance. I’m looking for a steady job not contractual anymore. I am currently employed but every position I get asked about it ends up being out of California (which I’m one of the few that does not want to leave). I’ve applied to so many jobs both on Indeed and LinkedIn. I’ve added my resume here. If you guys could give me few pointers as to what I need to do in order to get noticed that would be highly appreciated. Google Amazon Microsoft Apple

1. Get down to 1 page, 2 max
2. What position is this written for? Quality of resume is based off job description
3. There is no quantitative data
4. Avoid abbreviations (SPOC?)
5. Read like it was written by chatGPT
I agree with A1. Abbreviations are a strict no no, unless you’re applying for an internal role with current company and it’s a well known company abbreviation.
Just glancing, which is what companies do first, that’s A LOT of words. Managers don’t want to read that much. Try to get it down to 2 pages, max.
And yes, job description is a HUGE deal with resumes. Try to have several different ones, each with a focus on different jobs. Use keywords in the job description if possible.
Thank you everyone for the advice. I shall return.
FYI. I would redact any personal identifying information (e.g., phone number) before posting something like this. Someone could take your info and pretend to be you.
