I was affected by layoffs about a month ago and urgently looking for a good immigration lawyer. The lawyer should be experienced in handling this 60 day grace period situation and developing alternate strategies - such as change of status to B1/B2 or applying to jobs from India. There is a lot of noise and wrong information going in the market so looking for good recommendations.

I got selected in Infosys and offer was about to get release today but at last minute suddenly today infy HR told I was interviewed 5 months 20 days before in infosys so they cannot proceed now as 6 months cool off period. I am AWS cloud architect with 10yoe. For just 10 days difference they are stopping my offer even when I can join immediately in a week.. Please help in this situation what to do

Why are companies not more transparent about salaries? It should be required to list the salary range in a posting. I’m tired of applying to jobs only to find out the salary is way less than I’m willing to accept. This needs to change. Stop wasting applicants time and start including the salary range in job postings!!! Rant over.

What are some good resources to prepare for data science interviews?

Has anyone made the move from data scientist to PM? If so, how was the transition? Do you feel like you have a leg up with technical data skills? What is the differences in comp? WLB? I interviewed for a strategy and ops role in last 2 weeks. Fast process, everyone was in a great rush to get it done. I think interviews went well overall. I am hopeful. The recruiter emails me the day after my last interview saying “We are making final decisions next week, so will have answers for you then. Talk soon.” After some slow interview processes with google in the past, this feels pretty efficient. Also any takes on the recruiters email? Generic? Or indication of positive news?

I just interviewed with a family law firm that also does crim and immigration as well. They pay as a commission, not salary. This is in DC and there are about 12 attorneys. First, what is a fair commission rate (35%?). Second, what salary expectations should I have?

I’ve been interviewing at 2 companies & I got an offer today from 1 & I have an interview with the other on Friday. I think the 2nd company will have higher pay & it’s a better role. I absconded Amdocs on my 2nd working day due to a family emergency. Informed my reporting manager and TL about the same.
Now the HR is calling me daily and asking me to complete the resignation formalities. They even called my emergency contact.
Any idea what the formalities are as I can't serve any notice period since I've already joined another firm. Also as I have absconded can't they simply just blacklist me and move on?
