Since it’s still federally illegal I would worry about my license.
I think it’s an organization by organization issue. But since it’s still federally illegal, employers can probably decide not to hire you because of THC usage. I think most industries don’t have to worry about this, but healthcare is a different thing. Licensing and other liabilities I think create additional issues for us.
I was recently looking into this. From what I can tell you can still be in hot water with your board of nursing. Just because it isn’t FDA approved. It’s more like you won’t legally be in trouble but administratively you can still suffer consequences, especially with the board of Nursing.
It will go against you if THC shows up during the hiring process.

That’s a good question. I’m not sure how this is being handled. I’m interested to see what others say.
Do not smoke or have edibles for at least 2 months before you apply!!
If the drug test shows positive for THC, they don't know when you did it last.
I would NOT risk your license, they could report you to the state and force you to go to rehab, you cannot work while in rehab, then have to explain why you had a 6- 18 month gap in employment.
NOT WORTH IT. !!
If you fall or there is any incident, they will test, and again, the test doesn't determine how long it's been in your system, just that it IS in your system...
I do not work in a state where it is legal.. maybe if there is a FAQ on the Nursing Board website in the state you are working in, you might want to check that out.. I really can't speak to that.. Good Luck. 🚬
