If you are looking for any position that is within 60 miles of a location, you will be going into the office. Remote roles are few and far between these days. Best of luck.

What type of position are you looking for? The company culture and work/ life balance is different depending on your area. I am in IT(developer / architect). It can be very demanding, but I have a lot of flexibility; Although I do get calls at night. We are expected to be in the office 3-4 days a week, but if I have been on a call at night I won’t come into the office the next day.
A lot of your flexibility will depend on who you work for. My manager is in Colorado while I am in San Antonio. USAA is very collaborative. Slack is used a lot. Plus there are a lot of meetings and processes. I hope this helps.
@USAA1 : can you refer me to any open position? Looking for a team lead role, I am into backend (Java ) + cloud.
What’s the salary like for an architect or tech lead in San Antonio?
I have not seen a lot of open position lately, the last couple of years USAA has been downsizing and not backfilling open positions. Honestly, it is difficult for an external hire to come into a team lead role. It is very competitive to come into a senior /lead position and most of those go to internal hires. Leads can make between $150-200K in San Antonio.
Go to usaajobs.com. There are a few positions posted, most of them are mid level positions. Good luck!
Rackspace overall has a good culture and a great company to work for. The executive leadership is pretty on top of things. WFH is definitely a lot less now and if you get a job listed as in SAT then you'll be expected in the office 2-4 days of the week. I am not impressed with the leadership in sales operations and would not recommend that department. Other departments in Rackspace are run well.
