Legit excuse to cover moonlighting 🤣

I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?
Thoughts and prayers.

We don’t have mandatory algebra 2 in my district. Most kids go to liberal arts math or statistics instead if they’re not trying to go on to trig/calculus.
My kids struggle with it so much. Feel like some of them are just checking out because the material is way ahead of what they understand. They would do so much better in subjects they liked or even just a re-course in the basics that didn't have the stigma of "re-taking" the class.
I agree that a lot of these students aren't maintaining the info on these topics. Most students are only maintaining enough to pass. There is something to be said however for it being reinforced in between algebra 1 and 2.
We are not allowed to track in math classes, but we need to. Somehow it is okay to track kids by ELD level for English, though. Most people don't understand how hard it is to teach math--they think we are all just bad teachers.
I teach Pre Algebra (7th grade) and Algebra 1 (8th grade). My kids do well, but many do not really know their x tables or decimal place value and some are poor in division. Many of our kids go into Algebra 2 /Trig as freshman, but some repeat Algebra 1 to get stronger in basic Algebra.
