It's ok to name clients. Nobody is reading CVs for corporate espionage purposes.
Hiring managers are interested in prestige / relevant clients, creative and effectiveness success stories, and your own capabilities and innovative ways of working.
CVs don't need to be case studies. What's the best one line thing you can say about your involvement with each account or project?
One final thing: the clients on your CV are the equivalent of an Ask Me About list. You don't have to chronicle every client or project. Just go with the ones that are advantageous to your story, and where you can speak with knowledge about your work.
What agency are you at cso? Seem like a good person to learn from.
When it comes to naming names, I keep it general, but do try to be as specific as possible when talking about my contributions or experience gained. Of course always being NDA compliant. For resume purposes, I like to focus on the results. Anytime you can put some numbers in there, that can be a great thing. Definitely a lot of options out there and different hiring managers can absolutely be interested in different things!
1. Yes, name clients to help show range of industries/categories you've touched plus understanding legacy vs start-up, national vs small, etc. 2. You can be creative with numbers without saying exact data that would not be ok to share about client results. For example, doubling YOY engagement rate/sales/other KPI or 3X benchmark goal, etc. 3. Use the key things that help support the best story for your resume for the role you're applying to. Some of this will be the most relevant projects with results and/or awards won as a result, some will be displaying your leadership role on the project like did you own the strategy start to finish, etc., some may be the ancillary things like winning new business or being published in X media outlet for thought leadership piece, etc.
