Hi all! Is anyone here in Underwriting? Just want some thoughts on this as i’ve recently gotten an offer for an Underwriting Associate position and have never done any salary negotiations before. Does it seem unrealistic for my counter offer to be 12k more than the original offer? Considering that the original offer is roughly 8k less than the market salary. Plus i’m also accounting for wiggle room as i’m not expecting them to actually agree with the full 12k counter offer

Am within the interview process for a TSC position at Google UK and have been asked to get ready with an offer expectation for total annual compensation (annual salary, bonus, stocks … etc) but am really not sure with 12 yrs of experience what to seek and what should be the proper grading level for such experience. I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.

For next year my goal increased by 2.5X, and less of what I bring in counts towards that target. I really enjoy my job but I will essentially be getting a large pay cut. Lost in what to do besides quit??
