A PE firm (~2B AUM) just gave me an offer for an internal ops role to work with the portfolio companies. Offer is in London, 85K base + 25% bonus (there should be a bit of carry don't know how much yet). Offer seems low right? What can I negotiate it to? thanks!

Hi All,
In the HR discussion, we both agreed on 30L CTC (10% Variable) and 1L joining bonus. But later after 2-3 days when they need to release the offer, HR is saying they got the approval for 28L CTC(10% variable) and 2L joining bonus.

Should I take that offer and look for other options or straight forward reject the offer and then look for other options?

Also, according to this behaviour of the HR, is it good behaviour?

I have a recurring thought that really brings me down and I can’t seem to get past it.
Some days I feel I am pretty good at what I do (not a leadership role) but then I see leaders in my own organization that are great at what they do and I don’t believe that I could ever get to their level of competence. I am an associate at a UMM and my employment contract has a 4 month non compete (yes, even for associates) but I am thinking of lateraling. What are the implications of breaking a non compete? I didn’t say anything when I signed because I was desperate for a PE offer but it seems so unfair as I am just a lowly associate. I am not so much worried about getting sued, but about my current employer tanking my reputation if I leave and break the non compete.
