Hey guys! I’m looking for a career change. I currently work in government budgeting and finance and want to move into compliance and regulatory affairs. We do a lot of compliance work in my current role, but it’s hard to explain that when I can’t even get an interview. I’ve been verbally offered a position at a new company, but the recruiter insists on getting a verbal acceptance before sending the offer in writing. This person insists on negotiating salary before sending the paperwork. Generic benefits, RSUs, bonus info have been provided; it’s all unofficial.

This is absurd. Am I missing some “new way” of doing things? Your take?
