Hey fishes,
I have given the interview in Hexaware and later on I got the email to fill the CAF form which is also done. Nos it's been 20 days and no call, no e-mail at all! I can see the status as offet pending.
I am on notice period and I have only 1 month remaining.
Is it like, hexaware will release the offer at the end time or something! Because I'm eagerly waiting for the offer as I don't have much time now!

Learn python
I second Python... add learning R.
Doing proper analytics, viz and building models are just one half of the picture. If you really wanna have influence in orgs and get models into production, you need the business process / it side of things as well. The latter skills are common in consulting, but just make sure you can translate analytics into action, otherwise it risks falling flat and not delivering (speaking from experience)
Absolutely. Thank you!
Once you get your hands on python and tableau, spend some time building your portfolio. For tableau, you can check out makeovermonday, prepping data Monday and workoutwednesday. For data science, you can consider working on some mini projects and write about them. Gives you a little headstart and a better understanding. Holla if you need anything else!
Thank you!
Excel then SQL then python. Tableau is also useful. Within python you can go in so many directions, visualization, data cleaning, machine learning, statistics, web scraping, etc. i’ve done online courses from multiple places, and I like Udemy. It’s not quite as official and pretty on your LinkedIn as other places, but it’s cheap (there are always sales) and as long as you stick to the courses with thousands of reviews and students you’ll be fine.
General rule for UDemy is always buy on sale. It should be rare to buy a course for more than $20 - and you always get a lot for your money!
Business/Data analyst type roles rely heavily on thought process, analytical thinking, Excel and SQL. Tableau as well, python skills would be an awesome plus. Data science requires all of the above with heavy emphasis on coding and tech skills as well as modeling experience, algorithms etc. Both will require industry specific skills as well.
You have a perfect foundation as a generalist in consulting.
If you are a newbie, data analyst roles would be a good starting point and work your way up to scientist role as part of career growth.
Yeah, I think I want to start with data analyst and move to data science at some point
Since you are on the market and want to find projects, try Upwork and see if you can find anything suitable entry level. Doesn’t make a ton of money but gives you the chance to make a few bucks and maybe do something totally random you haven’t done before.
Also if you don’t use alteryx yet, try to pair that with your SQL learning. Goes very well with tableau and also can invoke python code through one of the tools. Go after the free 14 day trials. Happy to send you starter python code
Will check out upwork and alteryx!

Get good at stats, beyond just the basics. SQL Python, R, tableau, etc are good to know but are just tools for the job.
If interested in a role in big pharma send me a dm?

Learn some math for sure. Not just surface level Statistics, but calculus and probability as well.
Khan academy has great explanations on foundation of math and stats concepts
Have any of you used kaggle to learn python? Would you recommend?
Kaggle is great for finding some interesting projects and datasets. I, personally, haven’t used it to learn Python but have used it to check out other DS’s and DA’s projects/code.
