What is the difference between a Software Engineer I and II? When do you know you're ready to leave your first great SE job? Is there a way to get more money without leaving? I renegotiated my start date and it’s different from the date I signed on the offer letter. Do I need to request a revised offer letter or is the email thread with the recruiter sufficient. By the way, my background check is already in progress.

Got an offer for SE III at a large tech company. Product I'd be working on interests me and I think I could grow more than in my current role.

Currently I make 180k base and have ISO/RSUs @ startup (60k/yr worth on paper, but won't be worth anything for a few years, if at all).

The offer is:
Base: $166,500
Target Bonus: 10% ($16,650)
RSU: 120k total (30k/yr)

Thoughts on offer? Should I counter?

Additionally there's a yearly target RSU bonus about equal to the cash bonus. Thoughts? 4.5 YOE

I just cleared my AWS Cloud Practitioner exam and am curious whether I should pursue Solutions Architect Associate and/or Developer Associate certificate next. My plan is to get about 7 certificates in the areas that interest me, even though they are not needed for my role. Have you gotten both? Any recommendation to which to pursue first?

I hear a lot about cash flow with rental properties but would appreciate thoughts on whether breaking even after accounting for mortgage (interest and insurance included) as well as % set aside for repairs, vacancy, etc. is a decent strategy for building a portfolio. Alternative is wait for rates to come down, but that could easily be a few years at this point. If I find a good deal, I can always refinance my mortgage when rates drop and theoretically rental income will have increased by then.
