Hi All, Had an interview for a generic PgM role at Google. I think I did well in 3 out of the 4 interviews and the interviewers appericiated me that I did well. I really bombed the GCA interview and dont think I answered the interviewer’s questions correctly. Do you think there are still chances of getting in?

Please, I need your opinion on this. I have 6 years of experience as a software developer and just finished my masters degree in data science. Now I am looking for a job here in the US. I went through the hiring process with this company and finally got an offer. They offered 88k/year and I responded opening a negotiation. They emailed me back saying that I am no longer in this process anymore with no further explanation and in Thanksgiving day. Is that normal?that email really got me very upset

I have a friend who was let go a few months into his first job after college (reason: the manager felt like he wasn't grasping the training content to the level that was expected). He's worried about if he should put the experience on his resume anyway, if he does will recruiters ask why he had such a short time at this place, and what will recruiters think if he explains he was let go. What are some things recruiters expect from candidates in this situation to continue considering them?

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Had my virtual on-site for an S&O L3 role 3.5 weeks ago (NYC, 5 YOE). I haven’t heard back on a decision yet, and was wondering how long it typically takes? I also know that I was one of the very first candidates to interview for this specific role, and there are atleast 2 more people scheduled for onsites. Does the recruiter typically wait for all candidates to finish their onsites before communicating a decision? Or if I haven’t heard back yet, it’s probably a reject?

Hi all- My SO is currently at a Big4 & was initially preparing for S&O roles at GCP but given the high number of ex MBB consultants hired, they believe its just more competition to get the offer & to eventually get promoted over time.

Instead, they have decided to pursue program manager or cloud consultant roles, which they feel might have a lower barrier to entry from an assessment standpoint. Not sure if the bowl agrees but would like to get your thoughts, thanks!

I have a in person(online, 4 hours - 4 people) technical interview coming up and I have been practicing my coding for the past 3 weeks. The only thought I've been having is "what if I can't solve the coding question?" I am still fairly new to the software engineer scene and the position is for a level 1 software engineer.
Does it essentially end my chances if at any point I can't solve the question? I mean I will definitely attempt to talk it through, ask question, but no progress in code. 🤷

Received a verbal offer/commitment from the engineering team 3 weeks after my interview process. Still sitting and waiting (1.5 weeks) to have the conversation about compensation expectations and finalizing the offer. Is the Google hiring process typically this slow?
