Hi All , here is the scenario . Need your advice. So I was laid off with two weeks notice . On the first week of my lay off period I accepted a job offer and it was purely through referral and I will be joining the same team that I worked previously to my current company . So should I tell the people who referred me of my situation? Also I am an international employee so I will be going through visa transfer before starting.. I don't know how all these play off , waiting for your insight 🙏.

Remember one thing - If some companies are laying off employees then it's equally a good chance for the other companies to get talented resource . Here things will remain balanced mostly and there's no need to fear . Not all companies do layoff at the same time. You may end up getting a 100% hike too. Just believe in yourself and focus on your skillset, time to brush up and pull up your socks. Stay safe , stay positive !

I got laid off from deloitte. Now i work in cre asset management. I don't love my job. I am on visa (opt stem) . I need to work on finding happiness with my work to be more productive and be happy. I am very depressed and therapy isn't helping. If anyone is in a similar situation or can offer support or advice I would greatly appreciate it. TIA.

Need some suggestions: My current company is on a layoff spree and 2 rounds are already done and I can foresee another round coming very soon.

While I am trying to switch to other companies, I’m not able to reveal the real reason from my side for the job change, as if I say, it’s because of layoff fears than it’ll reduce my negotiation power.

I’m an intelligent guy with strong technical aptitude but limited experience. I’m resourceful.
However, for my first staffed assignment I was placed as a developer in the middle of an ongoing project in the development phase.
I have never used the technology they’re leveraging, nor embellished my resumé in any way to mislead them into believing I had.
Anyways, they just assigned me a task and I’m lost af.
