I bombed a question in my interview! Feeling horrid
Finally left TCS last week and feel the most happiest person ever.TCS was my 4th organisation and I had joined TCS to settle for long term but after 1 year I realised this is the worst organisation one can be with.No first year hike for laterals, no support provided to hard working dedicated employees, only support and leaves are gifted to employees who do nothing and know nothing except dodging work and getting escalations from clients.Forced wfo, forced completion of useless trainings etc.

My story is even weirder. I am switching from a government job to the private sector. My previous CTC was a mix of fixed salary, allowances paid in the account per month and other benefits that can be availed once or twice a year. I interviewed for a position, qualified all the rounds and was offered a 20% hike on my old CTC. I was happy to get the opportunity and said yes. During all 3 rounds, I explicitly stated my break-up of salary and they were fine with it.
After submitting my documents, they asked me for my offer letter for the previous job with the compensation breakup. No government job provides an offer letter with compensation breakup. All the information is public and can be accessed online. I told them the same and sent my bank statements where the credit of allowance was visible plus the internal department circular which highlighted all the allowances.
Lo and behold! they revised my offer letter and gave me a revised offer letter which was 45% less than the one they gave me before. This offer letter was 30% less than my previous CTC. When questioned, they told me that they only accept CTC which is shown in salary slips and offer letters of previous jobs. No bank statements, No circulars nothing.
I knew switching from the government sector was going to be hard but this caught me completely off-guard.

The biggest perk of a government job is the job security. You can take a long EOL from work and go abroad, make good money and return to your government job.
I know a girl who has a government job and she took an EOL of 5 year and is now working in Canada.
Happened same with me HR agreed on a certain amount as I was holding offer and later called back and said we will pay even 5Lacs less than offer I hold in hand as LTI - Mindtreee is a giant and one should not miss the opportunity
Wtf ! what the hell is a giant , they keep making most absurd claims ,well it ain't a giant for you if it isn't paying you a giant salary
It happened with me at LTIMindtree, HR agreed to a certain amount in the final round and after a few days she called me to inform that she didn't get the approval for the proposed CTC amount.

In my opinion take whatever they are offering and then try to find any other job with higher CTC.
Then at least you will have a backup offer.
Right
If you have no other offer as of now, then accept the offer letter, and hunt for more till joining AND
after joining also, in probation of 6 months period, u will get release easily at 1 month....
By that time you will get good offer from outside based on that 13%
Incase if joined- try to quit during 5th month by this u will have 3 months pay slips as well in order to show ahead...

Accept the offer and give joining date 3 months. Hunt for other companies offer with better hike. When joining date come near then reject that 13% to join

People suggesting to accept and then hunt for counter offers. What if you didn't get one.
Better to look for first good offer. Don't put papers in you current company.
In my case I also offered 13%, i accepted but I don't tell about this offer to another company HR. Once I have offer from another company then I will show to first company to match..
I have faced the same in Birlasoft.
This SCAM is going on everywhere in every company in the name of Recession. Companies are taking advantage of the situation.
They have done this to me as well in past. The company is pathetic.

Happened to me at LTIMindtree ,Capgemini and Tcs. They always do this after everything is cleared. Such poor work ethics, but very common! They love wasting our time.

That's close to fresher pay in product companies.
Don’t accept!
That 13% hike includes 10% variable, insurance etc ... Their CTC is a scam itself. The salary will hardly or almost match your current monthly salary later. See if there is really a point in accepting.
Get that offer and try searching for another by nogotiate with this one. If companies can play with us then why shouldn't we ? 😎
