My story is even weirder. I am switching from a government job to the private sector. My previous CTC was a mix of fixed salary, allowances paid in the account per month and other benefits that can be availed once or twice a year. I interviewed for a position, qualified all the rounds and was offered a 20% hike on my old CTC. I was happy to get the opportunity and said yes. During all 3 rounds, I explicitly stated my break-up of salary and they were fine with it.
After submitting my documents, they asked me for my offer letter for the previous job with the compensation breakup. No government job provides an offer letter with compensation breakup. All the information is public and can be accessed online. I told them the same and sent my bank statements where the credit of allowance was visible plus the internal department circular which highlighted all the allowances.
Lo and behold! they revised my offer letter and gave me a revised offer letter which was 45% less than the one they gave me before. This offer letter was 30% less than my previous CTC. When questioned, they told me that they only accept CTC which is shown in salary slips and offer letters of previous jobs. No bank statements, No circulars nothing.
I knew switching from the government sector was going to be hard but this caught me completely off-guard.

The biggest perk of a government job is the job security. You can take a long EOL from work and go abroad, make good money and return to your government job.
I know a girl who has a government job and she took an EOL of 5 year and is now working in Canada.
Happened same with me HR agreed on a certain amount as I was holding offer and later called back and said we will pay even 5Lacs less than offer I hold in hand as LTI - Mindtreee is a giant and one should not miss the opportunity
Wtf ! what the hell is a giant , they keep making most absurd claims ,well it ain't a giant for you if it isn't paying you a giant salary
YOE and tech stack?
5 years and SAP Security
What tech stack?
Sap security
Recently the company paid a huge amount to takeover mindtree. Cost cutting is going on. They will hire but with average LTI CTC. Not like 35% 50%
Recently , bench policy is changed to 60 days Max and many employee don't received any increment in July 2023 revision.
All fix. No variable below P2 band.
I am a present employee.
Don't go there, my friend works there. Work Culture there is screwed up
There are quite a few product companies where good WLB is the norm for most teams. Atlassian, Google, Cisco, to name a few.
classic LTI things
Yes it happened with me! One of the worst HR negotiations I have ever seen
Happens with me multiple times . You take the offer and ditch them just 4 days before the joining date. This is how they will learn the lessson
Happend for me with LTI. I rejected the offer
I got similar experience from hexaware . Offered me 10LPA and aftee 1 week they told can give a max of 7LPA which is lower than current CTC. What i got to know is.They got more experienced peraon witb 9.5 LPA

When I cleared interviews 2 years back, HR initially agreed for 40%, then while offering he said he can only give 30% and he needs commitment that I will join. I said I commit as long as your offer remains the best offer I have. I rejected their offer few days back once I got better one.
It happened with me that too a product company. My cctc 12.75. After discussion they agreed to 17.
But they release the offer letter I saw 15..i was like WTF. I hav declined it
It happens and is frustrating as well, and currently, fewer % hikes are given.
Cheer up and proceed with other interviews. Also, be quite clear about the % hike with the HR before the technical interview.
I understand that and have been there. But, all companies would be the same. It depends on the luck sometimes.
It's a poorly managed company with bad work ethics. 0% annual hike. Please watch out if you have other offers.
Continue job search, if this is their regular way of hiring then it's not a good professional place of work.
Thought of sharing this site which may be helpful for those preparing for the interviews

It happens. Move on
Same thing happened to me with CitiusTech. In HR round, they were fine with 15LPA, but gave 13LPA in offer letter.
The day LTI joined hands with Mindtree, it all got messed up. Mindtree was known for its culture, diversity, people.
Anyways,
Same disagreement of offer happened with me with publicis sapient and others. So its fine. You can take offer and go for other interviews for counter offer.

Generally this kind of fraud happens with Wells Fargo interviews!!!!
