Sharing my experience.
HCL has been the worst company that I have worked with. Previously I was associated with TCS and Accenture.
1. Micro Management at its peak. Managers take screenshots of your Away time.
2. HCL has a tool which tracks your Working Hours and a report is circulated every week and they expect you to work for 8.5-9 Hrs excluding breaks.
3. Projects are good but the planning and execution is worst. Managers thinking is outdated.
4. Worst Hike Policy and there is little to no recognition or additional perks apart from the salary.
Well what you pointed out about HCL is partly true Just a viewpoint/ counterpoint from my side
1. Micromanagement exists EVERYWHERE in every Indian corporate setup. That's because of the trust deficit that exists between managers and juniors. We need to learn something from Japanese style of management and their concept of Horenso - Houkoku (Report), Renraku (Communicate) Soudan (Consult) where employees take the initiative of consulting peers or superiors for any task/s and superiors give them adequate support and guidance. The managers and superiors in Japanese organizational setup never bother to micromanage their juniors , and as such don't even have the bandwidth to. In India , managers thrust all responsibility on juniors and then expect them to deliver!!!
2. Projects are the same which exist in every IT services company, be it Accenture or Cognizant or Wipro or TCS or TM . I guess you are talking about Sapience . Well Sapience tool is used in some projects not all. And also, they don't always track your productivity or performance using Sapience alone , there are other parameters too. Say for example if you have not been assigned any project task ,either take the initiative to approach somebody to assign you , or if not, you can even do some internal skillup training or do some deep dive on legacy and archive documents. That's accepted.
3. Hikes don't really matter nowadays where job hopping is an accepted trend and new normal.
Na bhai hcl bohot he chutiya company hai ..aur koi offer ho to wo join Kar lo but hcl never..
It's totally depend on manager and team how you will get. Job security is high don't worry about job security think about other points

Yeah I would also suggest it's worst company i have worked with.No work life balance if you have any other offer please consider that. Somehow completed one year have extended my shifts almost daily and worked on weekends without compoffs. Planning to drop papers now.
