Which one of those do you consider to be “at the back watching”?

My government work: 70% of private sector salary, lots of hands on experience, it’s usually you doing all the work, 2 old guys waiting for retirement, seemed more meaningful (what I did actually saved lives and helped people). small shop, so lots of access. My Private sector experience: higher pay, usually less interesting work, I don’t really get a sense of pride in the work, too many teams required to accomplish simple tasks, I manage a lot of tickets, scope of work is typically narrow which is why I became an architect. If it all paid the same I’d go back to government work.
I’d go with the one that requires less work LOLL
Haha I actually want to shift into cloud security which the system engineer is half AWS environment so lots of time to learn and they pay for courses and certifications. The goverment job does not.
Depends, which pays more? Also, if government is paying for Security Clearance, you can join and milk them for a couple years, then go back to private sector with the Clearance for a big raise
Especially if you're in the DC area. This job plus the clearance, you'll have a ton of opportunities.
system engineer pays more and id likely be doing a lot of remediation and working with some teams post incident. Security System Admin pays less and requires a move to a different city. I understand a clearance is a big deal but it’s a big IF* I actually get it. If not I’d have to find a new role in a new city. Takes 6 months or so to actually get it and during that time I will be in “probation”
