Side note - I was nominated for a promo prior to increasing my scope, but hadn’t been with the company 1 year. I’ve googled the average pay for this role in DFW which is about $20k more than what I’m making.
My performance review was a 4 out of 5. My Manager & VP have both expressed the value I bring to the team. I was going to outline my successes based on my performance review and show the average pay for my role, with similar criteria. I just don’t want to seem ungrateful if the $$ comes in lower than expected, once I get my promotion this week, and want to be able to negotiate if I have to.
Is this something that would be frowned upon? Any thoughts from my fellow Credit Managers out there?
Have you done an inquiry online or asked AI for this data? They're both easy methods.
I’m making $90k and average is roughly $110k-$120k.
If you're working where I think you're working, you're going to get lowballed. If you respond to this, when I get the notification later, I'll do a quick comp analysis in that area and post my findings.
Go ahead and send them please. Do you work in a HR type role, if you don’t mind me asking?
I've seen a large variety of pay across "Credit", depending upon industry and what role within credit you serve. I've worked in credit within banking and energy, vastly different roles and bonus structures. Approving credit limits, managing a team of underwriters, and 3rd line of defense are all different on the pay scale.
