Hey first of all congrats on how far you've gotten as a solo founder! That's impressive. I would, if I were you, definitely bring on someone technical at this point. You don't have to make them a co-founder, they could be a part-time CTO or contract developer, but I think you're going to need someone with more technical skills to push things along. Do you have any friends or family in dev? I think finding someone you trust on a personal level would be best.
I unfortunately do not. Currently looking to expand my network to hopefully identify someone that would fit this mold.
I am the first in my family to enter the corporate landscape and have been afforded some amazing opportunities that have put me in the room to validate the applications value. Hardest part now is figuring this thing out as I go. Thank you for the helpful insights.
Hi! Congratulations on bootstrapping your MVP—that’s a huge milestone. Bringing in technical support now is a smart move to accelerate progress and fill gaps.
Some options to consider:
- Hiring a freelance developer or contractor for specific features or fixes.
- Partnering with a technical co-founder who shares your vision and values.
- Engaging a development agency, if budget allows, for broader support.
- Exploring accelerators or incubators that offer technical mentorship.
A quick heads-up: whichever path you choose, research the pros and cons—such as how contractors differ from employees, or what partnering with a co-founder means in terms of equity and decision-making. Due diligence now can save headaches later.
Also, be sure you’re aligned on goals, commitment, and vision—especially with co-founders. Clear contracts that protect your IP and define roles are essential. Protecting yourself early makes all the difference.
Finally, tap into founder communities or local tech meetups for advice and potential collaborators. Keep pushing—your ed-tech app sounds promising!

Congratulations! I don’t have advice but am interested in the app (former educator here)
Congratulations on reaching an important milestone on your own! While this may not directly relate to your request, I would love to assist you in managing your emails, calendars, schedules, and any simple administrative tasks that may be taking up your time as a solo founder. I am in the early stages of my career in this field and am eager to demonstrate my skills, learn, and grow alongside my partner. If you are considering this type of support, I hope you will give me the opportunity to help.
Not yet, but I know I will. It pays well if you find one.
