Imposter syndrome hits hardest when you're actually leveling up. Keep a doc of wins (big or small) to remind yourself you earned this. As for leading campaigns and managing someone, don’t overcomplicate it. Stay curious, stay communicative, and trust your instincts. You’ve got this.
We all have Imposter syndrome. Get over it but even if you can’t over describe your concerns to ChatGPT, Perplexity and CoPilot. Don’t be afraid to bear your emotions. Good Luck. I still have Imposter Syndrome and I launched 3 billion dollar products.
Keep track of your wins, actively manage projects, and think about the next step. If you’re worried about stuff slipping through the cracks with project management, set calendar reminders for yourself (ie sending XYZ to client; f/u if we haven’t received feedback yet, etc.)
And remind yourself - you can do this! You’ve got this!
If you are qualified then let your resume speak for itself and work on building your confidence levels. We all have imposter syndrome from time to time but we can't let it get the best of us. It might help to practice interview answers with a friend so that you will feel confident in your answers in the actual interview.
In addition to all of the above, what’s helped me most is knowing everyone experiences this and we’re all learning on the job every day. Even the best leaders feel imposter syndrome :)
I also like to remind myself that it’s PR not ER so really nothing is that serious!
