Hi everyone. Car shopping: Hyandai ionic 9 vs Kia EV9? Anyone have experience with either? I have one child (3.5) , newly divorced (ugh) and likely a dog in the future. Trying to get something that isn’t overwhelming but good for long trips.

Anyone else dread baby showers? I don’t want to go to my friends baby shower just because of the social aspect of it. Dreading the side conversations that I may have. I know it’s to focus in on my friends upcoming baby but I’d rather just do a 1:1 to catch up. What’s the best way to change your RSVP without lying and looking disrespectful?

What are some side gigs people have done that they wouldn't pursue again today? Are there any you'd still go for, but would approach completely differently?

Thinking along the lines of:
- Platforms you'd keep away from
- Gigs that people have missed the boat on by now or instead that have just taken off only now
- Specific hustles that aren't worth the upfront cost/hassle in setting up or that are super hard to hire for
- Policies/attitudes you'd adopt going into things this time around

Does anyone here work for Silicon Valley Bank? They recently acquired Boston Private. I’m a candidate for a job at Boston Private. Wondering if SVB is planning layoffs in the near term at BP? Also, does anyone know the anticipated benefits to be rolled out from SVB as the parent company? Specifically interested in health insurance providers. Thanks in advance for any information! Could anyone please clarify this?

Is the tax exemption limit (of 25000) under 80DDB for both parents or 25000 for each parent?

So in short - 25K+25K = 50K for Both Parents or is it just 25K for both.

Recently got my child's passport renewed. Child is minor so effectively a new passport. Here is the timeline, with just regular service.

6/2 Applied in person at the local county office
6/6 The application reached the State Dept
7/9 Got email that status changed to Approved
7/12 Received the new passport

End to end, a little more than 5 weeks. "Routine service can take 8-11 weeks" is the standard disclaimer. It's all good people!

Do you think using “him/her” for “he/she” (ex: “her is playing” “him not here yet”) is something that kids usually grow out of? Or does it need direct intervention? I have 2 students who exhibit this error, who otherwise should be dismissed. Normally I’d just keep them on and work on it alongside other goals, but they don’t have any other goals, and with COVID, and my upcoming maternity leave in March, a more compact caseload would be advantageous.

I have $100K liquid cash over and above maxing out 401K, HSA, College fund, investments in Index funds and emergency fund. I plan to leave $25K for contingency. Of the $75K is it wise if I purchase I bonds worth $30K (myself, spouse, kid)? Current combined rate is 9.62 Does anyone foresee the interest rate drastically reducing? I don’t intend to cash them out before 5 years.

Other than citizenship, are there any other benefits of having a baby in the US vs in India? My wife and I may not be settling in the US, depending on what we decide over time. With that in mind, my wife is siding towards having the baby in India. When I checked online, I don’t really see any benefit except for the citizenship. Any inputs appreciated :)

How do new mothers especially first time moms deal with stress? My wife seems so stressed after having our baby 2 weeks ago and I’m unsure of how to help other than take care of the baby when I can. I went back to work and she’ll be a stay at home mom but I recognize that the baby is a lot to deal with. Any tips?

Hey all! Need a couple book recs for an upcoming beach trip.

Looking for a great non-fiction, relating to travel or world history (not just one moment in time). Could also be about the marketing world or memoirs of a business leader kinda thing.

Fiction wise I also like fantasy, paranormal, and romance. Some fave book series are the Black Gryphon from Mercedes Lackey, Game of Thrones, and From Jamaica Lane series. Similar books?
