I have a 3 month old and a 3 yr old who both go to daycare. The daycare hasn't announced closure. As a parent would you keep them at hm while working or take them? It's just me with them. Scared of CV

Keep them at home. Children are vectors. You will help flatten the curve by keeping them at home.

I recommend keeping your kids home.

I fully understand the stress of trying to get your work done with young ones looking for and needing attention at home. I am a single parent and it was really tough when my kids were toddlers.

As noted above, clients coworkers will be more flexible and tolerant as many many people will be in a similar position. I know it doesnt make you more efficient, but hopefully lightens stress a bit.

The health of your kids, you and your community are more important right now.

Good luck

I wish we had some guidance on how to handle this.

I do too.

Same question for kids with similar ages... I know the right answer, but deadlines aren't moving and I'm the only manager on my team. My husband is hourly and as of now, required to work.

like

See if you can get a mother’s helper. Most schools are closed. That might be your short term solution for now. It’s worth looking into.

2 and 5 year old. Same thing with daycare. My gut says keep them home but I’m worried about work.

EY 2, yes. So much. 😭😩

So should we put up an OOO message to emphasize that there will be delays?

like

Use the EY COVID-19 charge code from the March 12 email if your personal circumstances are preventing you from working. It seems like situations like these are exactly what it's for.

like

I would and am keeping my kids home.

Some of us don’t have a family, but will appreciate you doing your part to end this by keeping your kids at home. Surely most people can relate that this is in chartered territory for all.

like

My advice is to talk to your partner/teams about call schedules etc and how that intersects with your personal circumstances. A lot of people will be affected by this, so don’t worry about having to take care of your kids - that’s just life! Good luck & stay safe.

Thank you

Would you consider hiring an in home nanny for sometime. Will help them out with money that I’m sure they need and will help you with ur work

Keep your children home. Do what is best for them.

Help!! My bestfriend is doing two months abroad and was trying to fly into turkey when they told her she couldn't because her passport expired within three months.

She went to the US Embassay in Athens knowing she had a month left of traveling, and gave her an emergency passport and punched holes in her exsisting one. Now no country will let her in with her emergency passport.

Can her mom get her a passport in the US and ship it to her? Is there anyway around this?

Thank you!!

I know everyone will have different answers for this but how did you know it was time to get sober? I think it might be time for me to find a new job and pursue sobriety, but I don't feel like I'm a rock bottom which is the only time I've ever seen people really commit to it (my father). Apathy isn't the right word but I just kind of feel numb about everything and I think being sober would maybe help.

Seeking advice either from anyone already working for US GOV or any advice on how to get into it. I’m interested in working for IRS or Veterans with pm work. Any advice?

I also want to help my dad get into a permanent GOV role before he needs to retire, he’s been rejected by gov roles and can only work travel roles with fema, I don’t want him traveling as he’s getting too old and I just lost my mom a year ago. Any help would be appreciated!

For those that have a nanny: how did you find him/her? Been having no luck with nextdoor, care.com and sittercity. I need a part time nanny two days a week. Anyone in the LA area have a referral for me? 😀

How have you combated your fear of rejection? I fixate on such small things as when my friends, for example, reject plans I have made. This definitely makes me more averse to putting myself out there and makes me ruminate on past perceived failures, which are clearly not good for personal growth
