I believe each human would be happy if they have good relationships first with themselves and then with others.
generally for self care I try to work out and exercise, eat healthy and stay positive. Mind my own business and focus my energy on whats right for me to do. Stay humble even if I know more than my peers. Practice mindfulness meaning observe thoughts and emotions , sometimes people judge me I only observe. What have I learnt?
Sometimes I judge people, I get back to myself on what triggered me to do that?
I also think reading everyday on different subjects give me some calm effects.
I go to parties I want to go not because of peer pressures, I go on vacations to relax and if some plans changed , see it as only positive.
What did not work out is only an experience.
Change is good.
Overall I think positivity, mindfulness, learning, reading and maintaining my relationships have really helped me to become better everyday.
Hope you can use some of these habits.
Develop good money habits. Start maxing your IRA and 401k, put money in savings, save for large items/trips, and live below your means if possible. For example I am in my mid 30s and have paid off my student loans while also building an emergency fund, house fund, and building my retirement funds because I set goals and choose to live off 40% of anything I took home. It really sucked just starting but as I have grown in my career it has gotten easier. It is never fun to see peers on big expensive annual vacations or buying the latest bag but I now also have much more financial freedom then they do, no debt, and will be ready to retire 10-15 yrs before them.
Learn to seek, be open to, and grow from feedback. Work on becoming self aware and determine what motivates you, your strengths, your weaknesses, and how other perceive you. If you aren't comfortable with yourself and confident then work on that. Find what you are passionate about and what gives you energy. Find ways to work that into your job or make it your career.
Value your family (bio or chosen) and relationships. Understand what truly is important in life and have your actions match accordingly. Don't waste energy on others who diminish you and instead empower others.
Seek pleasure in the little things. Treat others the way you expect to be treated and don't accept less. Know your value and demand respect but also continue to earn that respect everyday.
What are you doing now?
Now, I am focusing on my habits. I am switching from HIIT workouts to pilates, replacing wine with "Sleepy Girl Mocktails", and and thinking of ways to plan for my future financially. I struggle because I want to change everything at once, instead of focusing on a few things at a time. I would also like to incorporate waking up slowly, establishing moments of gratitude, and adding bits of creativity by writing/drawing/painting. I am so curious to know what others are doing too.
