Looking for some great (former) BigLaw transactional lawyers to work with my company Praktio (www.praktio.com) to develop new practical training for associates. Here's the LinkedIn job posting: www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2636937239/.
Initially contemplating these relationships as contractor/project-based, but hoping some will evolve into FTE. And open to starting off that way for the right opportunity.
I have two years of automotive/aerospace manufacturing experience and am looking for new opportunities. I recently applied to a Solution Engineer - Commercial Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy (MAE) role at Salesforce, and it sounds like a great fit. Is anyone willing to offer me a referral or advice on how to move forward in the hiring process? Salesforce

If you are a freelancer, pay should be:
Annual amount you want ÷ 120 (average # of days, any freelancers works in a year) = Your Day Rate
If VML isn't hitting your day rate with your offer, then you might find it hard to pay your taxes and insurance costs.
I would stick with the permanent role for as long you can. As a freelancer you have zero job security
I would keep the full-time job with benefits!
Let’s connect if you don’t mind?
You are not even protected by many labor laws as a contractor. The contract duration doesn’t mean anything as they can pause your project anytime and trust me it happens even at bigger corporations. The medical plans and 401k also suck.
Only take contract w2 jobs if you have no employment lined up and need cash. You probably won’t even qualify for mortgage application with contract jobs btw.
Especially in this economy when contract jobs are being used to hire workers as “fill-in” for full time jobs being eliminated or layoffs, be very very careful leaving full time for contract.
