I recently received an offer from HCL Tech to work on the Flexera client. I’m joining a service-based company for the first time, as most of my experience has been with small product-based startups — and those usually don’t offer a good work-life balance.

Could anyone who is currently working with the Flexera client share how the work-life balance is on the project and do they provide the flexible working hours?

Have any of you taken "low bono" clients while working at a firm? I want to take on a low bono client or two but not sure who would get the money. This is a contract opportunity through a non profit so I'm assuming a 1099 will be issued. The per hour rate is significantly less than my billable rate. I would (obviously) like the money but my real objective is just getting experience/networking since I recently moved to a new state and don't have clients of my own.

To all my data engineering friends out there, do you all feel like trash sometimes? Like people dont understand shit about what you do, and clients just want to see some bs ml model/pretty but useless dashboards?

Finally hit my breaking point. Been nothing but irritable & pissed off these past few weeks. Coach asked me on Friday when I’ll be taking time off & I just broke down. How do y’all deal with people at work who are stuck on stupid? Like they have no idea what they’re talking about and they REFUSE to learn.
