Can someone kindly connect me with Investment Banking HR/Recruiter/anyone willing to help? My friend interviewed for Goldman Sachs NY. Cleared the HireVue but didn’t get any communication further. It’s been 4 weeks now. Although the referral came from a VO but the division is different. My friend is looking for Investment Banking division. Need to get in touch with someone from investment banking to push the resume. The rolling process is hurting the chances.Thank you Goldman Sachs

I know the job market is so rough right now. I would suggest posting in the job referral bowl. You might be able to make some connections in there.
I think the job market is tough everywhere atm. That said social media is on the rise in terms of spend and importance.
Where have you been applying to? Also what region are you?
I believe Canada has quite a spread on the population - so being in one of the top 3 biggest cities would help.
Open the aperture on job application just to get in. Aim to apply to creative agencies in general and less just social media agencies / positions - also brands and marketing positions.
If a job is not listed then reach out directly to people and submit a CV (+ portfolio or results if you can). Consider looking up Senior agency people and trying to book in a coffee chat to learn more about the industry, the agency, networking events any advice to getting into the industry. But don’t directly ask for a job - you just want to leave a good impression and hopefully come to mind in the future.
I would recommend the below:
1. Awards sites
2. Advertising and marketing associations
3. Advertising and marketing trade publishers
4. Advertising, marketing, social media agencies
5. Toronto Bowls
6. Recruiters
1. Award sites
Review local creative awards sites
Check lists and entrants
Sometimes there are agency directories
Categories will list social specific but aim for other positions.
2. Advertising/Marketing Associations
Look up local ones
Often they have careers section
Look up agency list / directories
3. Trade Publishers
Look up local ones
You can search social campaigns and the agencies behind them.

4. Agencies
Good ‘ol ChatGPT can list all big agencies with social media offering across Advertising, Social, Marketing, Creative agencies. Prompt further for contact details and job sections.
Use this list and start researching current job openings
Also reach out directly and submit CV and portfolio
Again look up senior agency people and reach out for a coffee chat. But learn about the agency and case studies and things you find interesting with them and social media in general.
Note - PR and Experiential/Brand experience have social media divisions
5. Toronto Bowls
Reach out to The Toronto Bowl and Ad Fish in Toronto
Also try the advertising bowl
The second will have more creative options
6. Recruiters
Try find out creative recruiters in advertising and ad fish in Toronto bowls, via chatGPT and any listings in the above
Reach out ASAP - let them do the work in the background for you while you also reach out to the other agencies. They’ll only have relationships with certain agencies so you still have work to do.
Good luck! 🍁
