Hi everyone! I’m a foreign-trained attorney (licensed in a non–common law jurisdiction) currently working in the U.S. as a Contracts Manager. I’m exploring other in-house legal or related roles that could be a good fit for my background that don’t require U.S. bar admission, but offer room for growth. Any insights or leads on titles or openings would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can explore various compliance roles (privacy, AML, etc.), trust administration, or procurement. Additional certification might be helpful. It doesn't guarantee your employment, though

So I finished my 3rd interview with a company and the TA specialist said they loved me but can’t meet me at my bottom line salary, however, I said I can negotiate and she said she’s going to speak with the decision makers and see if they’re okay with that. What does this mean? This is for a marketing specialist role. I’m asking for $70K bottom line

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. Is it a red flag for them to not share this? His total comp could be less at this new job…

Small position starting today. Looking for 200-300% in 3 years on this. Was best quarter in years without the archegos debacle and lots of opportunity for rates to rise.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?
