Hi Everyone, Started my career in government 5 years ago working in an operational role, then focussed on HR for 3 years working my way up to a middle manager role in HR as a business partner and completed my Level 7 CIPD. I don’t think HR or government is for me anymore and looking to find something new, now 24 feel I have a lot of transferable skills and knowledge but worried about private companies in other professions taking me seriously. Hey fishes.. can anyone pls throw light on the desigantions in Oracle.. I'm being offered senior applications developer role.. although I applied for Senior MTS.. after 2 rounds of interview I didn't hear anything and almost 3 weeks later appeared for final round and got selected.. but for different role. Are these roles comparable? Its for Hyderabad.. full stack developer .. me having 7+ yoe.

Given two candidates competent at basics you're looking for, would you rather hire a candidate that...
1. brings up relevant topics beyond what you're "really" hiring for, but can't answer in depth follow up questions
2. sticks to the basics they know

Asking because I feel like it's pretty typical interview advice to do #2, but then that doesn't seem to reconcile with wanting ambitious and eager to learn hires. Thoughts?

Why do Big 4 firms view their competition for talent as other Big 4 firms? Shouldn’t they be looking at what the general market for exit options are doing when evaluating how to stay competitive and not lose employees?

1) Had a really bad experience working at this company, not because of the company but because of the senior engineer and their behavior. It was a good position, although it wasnt exactly what the JD entailed. A lot was gatekept by the senior as leverage forabuse of power. We wouldn’t be a part of projects and participate unless we participated in the horrible remarks about other coworker made by the senior. I was also harassed and extremely discriminated against, HR was not able to do anything-
